Access Youth Church

It's has begun!
The last few months have been such an adventure I have forgotten to Blog, I do plan on being more diligent as I know many of our friends and family that live far away are anxious to be included in this new season of our lives. I can not begin to tell you how honored we are to be trusted by the Lord to Pastor His kids.
Access Youth Church began in September and has been amazing. The Lord has been faithful to challenge us and continue to reveal His heart through our youth.  We are here to teach students but often we find we are the ones that are learning. The Lord has been revealing His heart to us more and more everyday as we learn not only how to be pastors but also parents. The Father heart of God is a topic discussed daily in our home as we deal with the day to day adventure of parenting 2 toddlers, and also as the Holy Spirit challenges us to a higher standard.

Not everything is so serious

Happy Birthday CJ

Colin Jordan Flewelling Born July 13th 2009

It's hard to believe that just a year ago our little man was born. We called him Mr. Who because his nose and ears reminded us of an old man from the Grinch that stole Christmas.

Now, a year later he no longer resembles an old man, rather a little boy with a beautiful smile and bright blue eyes. He has such a sensitive spirit, he loves to dance and praise Jesus in our home, and he LOVES his big brother, they do everything together and as a mother it brings me so much joy to see them playing together.

This past year of his life has been an adventure for our family. A year ago we were living in Pocatello Idaho, today we are in Spokane and getting ready to start Access Church. I believe now more than ever that
Jeremiah 29:11 rings true in his little life.

" For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

A Time to Help!!

With the end of the month quickly approaching I was hoping I could ask a favor from my fellow couponers. As you know, coupons can be used on military basses for 6 months after their American expiration date. I have been talking with a chaplain's family that I very much love, stationed in Japan. They have requested that we send our expired and unused coupons to them as they do not receive any. They will share them with their community and help other military families save money. You may not be aware, but many militray families live on a single income and this is our chance to share the coupon love.

If you would like to be part of this project,  please send your coupons sorted into food and non food. so we can send them all together.

I laughed, I cried, it moved me bob

Visits to the Doctor's office are always an adventure as we juggle the boys while they get weighed and measured, poked, and prodded. Good news is,  we still have 2 healthy young men. Noah is 27 pounds, and not far behind him is CJ at 17 pounds. The laughing came when the Dr. told us that though the boys have ten months separating them, their heads are the same size. Our appointment ended with 6 shots for Noah and three for CJ, Good thing that's over.
The boys are getting so big, sometimes I look and them and i can not believe they are so old, CJ has 2 teeth and is almost crawling ( yes this make me very nervous) and Noah is running around the house talking up a storm and turning everything with buttons into a cell phone.  surprisingly ( his future wife will thank me) his favorite toys are crock pots, and measuring cups. I think his grandma Vaughan had something to do with this.
I feel so blessed everyday that I get to partner with Jesus in helping them become men of God

SAHM

I found an article written by a business woman a few years ago. she stated that An alarming number of college-educated women are leaving the work force to stay at home and raise their children, a trend that is a tragedy not only for the mothers, but ultimately their children and women as a whole.
In January 2010 I made a choice to be a SAHM ( Stay At Home Mom) When poeple ask " Do you have a job?" I can without hesitation say "Yes, I am a mom".  I am proud to be included in the 5.4 million mothers put their careers on hold to stay home with their children. Though it is not ever easy, it is the choice that I have made to support my family. The other day I was thinking  how nice it would be to get out of the house and go to work, not have to change diapers or deal with screaming children. I could even have adult conversation, or even complete a whole meal before it gets cold. Through the next week the Lord began to teach me about His heart for mothers. No one can love my children the way that I do. No one knows exactly how Noah likes his milk in the morning or where CJ's favorite spot to play is. Though we do have the best friends in the world, they care for my children in my absence with love and kindness, no one can love them like their mommy. I have the unique privilege of sharing God's heart with my children, I get to teach them how He sees them and how He wants them to treat others.  Proverbs 22:6 says, Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.(NASB)
So the next time you are desperate for adult conversation and need a moment to be reminded why you live on a single income, remember that no one can show your children how to be Men and Woman of God better than you can.
And for those of you that do work to make ends meet, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, do what you need to do to provide for your family. What is right for my family is not necessarily the right thing for yours.
